Dr. Heetderks is a 3rd generation physician and Montana native. He earned his medical degree from University of Nevada in Reno. He then completed a rotating internship and an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He spent one year in pediatric orthopaedics at the Carrie Tingley Hospital for Crippled Children, also in Albuquerque.

Dr. Heetderks joined the Helena Orthopaedic Clinic in 1990 and was certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1992. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and Montana Orthopaedic Society. He is also a member of the Montana Medical Association and Lewis and Clark County Medical Society.
